John Zaccheo (1942, Kingston, New York) is one of the world’s most renowned impressionists. His profile accomplishments include being selected to create the official painting for the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt as well as making the official painting landing on the Moon, which was presented to astronaut Neil Armstrong. Zaccheo has also appeared on the cover of Life and Time magazines. John Zaccheo is a graduate (BA) of Duchess Community College; he followed on at the Art Student League in New York under the tutelage of great masters like Arthur Lidov, John Pike, Robert Benny, Leslie Ross and David Lax. Years later Zaccheo rose to become head of Creative Services at Warner, New York, churning out album cover art. He also did commissioned work for individual patrons, gaining a wide client base as well as the interest of local galleries. John Zaccheo mostly paints Mediterranean ports and seascapes where he spends a great part of his life. Constructed out of layers and geometric shapes, his Mediterranean townscapes are curtailed by water as reflective as a mirror. His paintings, rich in texture, capture a sense of light that magnifies forms and metamorphoses their appearance. John Zaccheo is represented by major galleries throughout the United States. Some of his works are in the private collections of former President Jimmy Carter, the estate of Anwar Sadat, former Prime Minister Manchim Begin, and the late Vice President Nelson Rockefeller. His works have also appeared on the cover of Life and Time Magazines
