Giliano was born in Junbook Korea in 1946. At the age of 17 he was admitted into the Seoul National University and began his studies of fine art. His natural talents earned him a Special Prize in the Competition of Fine Art sponsored by the Seoul University in 1963. In 1964 he was awarded the Grand Prize at the Competion of Fine Art at the College of Fine Art, Hongick University.
Giliano has chosen the romantic settings of the streets of Paris as his primary subject matter for his paintings. For the most part he favors the dreamy turn of the century style street scene which includes the beautiful architecture and bustling boulevards of Paris. His palette is warm and inviting with dramatic light and shadow play. The streets often appear to be wet with rain and reflect the glowing lights that emanate from within the cozy shops and cafes. In some paintings a more contemporary style of street scene may be depicted which is evident with figures who are dressed in a more current style of fashion.
Giliano is a talented artist who has the ability to capture the romantic beauty of a time period long past.
